Girls age 5-18: Our main focus

Our primary purpose is to serve girls in the greater-Holyoke and Chicopee areas, with our reach extending to Westfield, South Hadley, and Springfield, MA.

We do this through programs that are offered at no cost to families (or made as affordable as possible), and which focus on critical skills and learning areas that girls need to explore the limits of their potential.

Parents: Partners in our success

Parents are instrumental in the success of our organization. We share the same goal as the parents of the girls we serve: to create, strong, smart and bold girls leading their way forward in the world.

Sometimes parents contact us because they believe their daughter could benefit from our programs. Other times, it's the girls themselves who hear about us through a friend. Whatever brings parents to Girls Inc., they are welcome because they are essential to what we do.

We offer a number of useful tips for parents to support their daughter's development.

Education professionals

We have strong liaisons with area schools and universities, which help us stay attuned to what is happening in education and how we can support academic success.

At local schools, we communicate with counselors and administrators as well as faculty and serve on several school task forces.

At the college level, we work with several schools to offer tutoring programs for girls who can benefit from academic coaching. We also partner with colleges such as Mount Holyoke, Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts to offer girls a chance to experience everyday life on campus.

Our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold by providing them the opportunity to develop and achieve their full potential.
